The Intellum Platform's Public Activities feature gives you the option to make content in your account accessible to users who are not logged in. If enabled, unauthenticated users can access an activity page, but are prompted to log in  to track their learning or complete the activity.

This article gives you an overview of public activities, shows you how to make an activity viewable to unauthorized users, and breaks down the user experience with public activities.

Things to Note:

  • You'll need to contact a Customer Success Manager or an Intellum representative to enable Public Activities on your account.

Allow Public View

Once the Public Activities feature is enabled for your account, you will find a new property included in your activity Catalog Properties - seen below:

Public View

Enabling Allow Public View makes an activity page viewable to unauthorized users. An unauthorized user accessing a public activity will be prompted to log in based on her actions in the platform. Here are a few examples of actions that will trigger a log in prompt; if a user:

  • attempts to download a file (like documents, PDFs)
  • attempts to launch an E-learning course
  • attempts to use a Mark as Complete button
  • attempts to launch an Assessment

When you enable Public View for a Path, the activities within the path are made viewable to unauthorized users within the context of the path - and feature log in prompts as listed above.

Heads Up!

For Sequenced paths: users will be prompted to log in when they attempt an action on the activity page - as outlined in the section above.
For Launch Direct paths: users will be prompted to log in when they attempt to launch an activity from the path's home page that requires log in - like E-learning courses, assessments, or file downloads.


If you enable Public View for a Collection, you must also enable Public View for each Path within the collection to ensure the content of each path is accessible to users.
