Zoom is a web conferencing tool that lets you schedule and host live webinars. Integrate your Zoom account with the Intellum platform to be able to create Zoom webinars from within the platform and connect your users to live, in-person learning events.

This article gives an overview of the features of the Zoom integration and the platform setup required to integrate a Zoom account. It walks you through the steps and settings associated with creating Zoom webinars in the platform.


Things to note:

  • The Integration is compatible with Zoom Pro, Business, and Enterprise
  • A Zoom admin account with both reporting and webinar permissions is required
  • Zoom webinar events created in the Intellum platform must be managed in the platform. Changes in Zoom will not sync back to Intellum.
  • Enrollments in Zoom webinar events in the Intellum platform must be managed in the platform. Changes in Zoom will not sync back to Intellum.

Zoom Integration | Features


The Intellum Platform integrates with Zoom Pro, Business, or Enterprise accounts and provides the following functionality in the platform:

  • Automatically creates Zoom meetings with in-platform Event setup
  • Logs users directly into a Zoom webinar without registration
  • Syncs event attendee lists between platforms
  • Integrated with platform Event reporting
  • Allows embed of a Zoom webinar in an activity page

Connect Zoom to the Intellum Platform


Unrestricted admin can integrate with Zoom by visiting the Zoom App Marketplace and installing the Intellum app. You'll need a Zoom admin login to proceed.

Heads Up!

We recommend logging into Intellum before installing the app. You are required to log in as an unrestricted admin to complete the authorization.

To connect Zoom to the Intellum platform, follow these steps:

  1. Find the Intellum app in Zoom's App Marketplace.
  2. Click Install to authorize the Zoom integration.
  3. Click Authorize to give Intellum access to your Zoom account.
  4. Sign in to your Intellum account by entering your account subdomain and selecting a host. Click Continue.

Zoom is now integrated with Intellum. The Apps Settings page in Account Settings reflects the authorization.


Unrestricted admin can also integrate with Zoom through the Apps Settings page within Account Settings.

Follow these instructions to authorize Zoom from within the platform:

  1. Navigate to account Settings in the expanded admin navigation.
  2. Select the Apps tab on the account Settings page to access App Settings.
  3. Scroll to find the Zoom integration and click Authorize with Zoom.
  4. Sign into Zoom.
  5. You are returned to the Intellum platform, now authorized with Zoom.

View Zoom Webinars


You can access a list of your linked Zoom webinars or Log Out of your Zoom account by clicking on the Authorized button - as seen below:

Once connected, Intellum users that have permission to create events can choose to create Zoom webinars for events.

Creating Zoom Webinar Events


The option to create a Zoom webinar is now available to any user who has permission to create events - both administrators and activity facilitators. With your Zoom account connected to the Intellum platform, creating a Zoom webinar is now an option whenever you create a new event.

Admin Experience

Admin will find the Zoom event type added to the New Event page. To create a Zoom webinar, follow these steps

  1. Create a new event by adding an event to a new or existing activity.
  2. Fill in the event details - the event's name, start time, and end time (based on the duration you set) will be used to create your Zoom webinar.
  3. Select Zoom as the event Type.
  4. Add further information to the event - as needed.
  5. Click Save to create the Zoom webinar event.

You can also choose to embed your Zoom webinar in the event page.

Heads Up!

When you assign one or more event Facilitators to a Zoom webinar event, each facilitator is added to the webinar as a Zoom co-organizer.

Activity Facilitator Experience

Activity Facilitators will find the Zoom event type added to the Add New Event page.

  1. Navigate to Events.
  2. Select the My Events tab.
  3. Click New Event to add a new event
  4. Fill in the event details - the event's name, start time, and end time (based on the duration you set) will be used to create your Zoom webinar.
  5. Select Zoom as the event Type.
  6. Add further information to the event - as needed.
  7. Click Save to create the Zoom webinar event.

Zoom | Leaner Experience


Once you've created and listed a Zoom webinar event, users enroll in and access the webinar through the Events tab in learner navigation.

Users that enroll in your event get access to the join link for your Zoom webinar within the Intellum platform.

Users enroll in, and launch, Zoom webinars within the platform.

The platform triggers an enrollment email when a user enrolls in a Zoom webinar event. The email includes the Zoom webinar information - including the join link - and is sent to the email address listed in her Intellum profile.

Users who have requested to join the waitlist for a Zoom webinar event will not receive an enrollment email until their waitlist request has been approved.

Remove the Intellum App


Disconnect your Zoom account from the Intellum platform by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to account Settings in the expanded admin navigation.
  2. Select the Apps tab on the account Settings page to access App Settings.
  3. Scroll to find the Zoom integration and click the Authorized button.
  4. Click Log Out at the top of the Zoom event listing.
Unrestricted Admin can remove the Zoom integration in the same place it was set up - via Account Settings in the Intellum Platform.

Intellum | Web Conferencing Options


Zoom webinars are created and managed at an account level, so integrating Zoom with Intellum will enable the Zoom webinar option for any user in your account that has permission to create events.

The Intellum platform also supports the following web conferencing integrations - these integrations are set up through each individual admin's - or facilitator's - user profile.
